  • Fiscal Responsibility

The Legislature must exercise fiscal responsibility in order to allow the people to keep more of their own hard-earned money. The needs of government should never outweigh the stability of our families and businesses. Utah is recognized as the Nation's Best Managed State. We enjoy a Triple AAA bond rating. I'm proud to be a Conservative Legislator willing to make the tough decisions. I'll strive to do the right thing for our state budget--even when it may not be politically popular.

  • A Public Servant

I serve in the Legislature because I care about setting policies that matter. We are rapidly growing as a state and with that growth comes, not only opportunity, but also challenges. I care deeply about creating a course of direction that keeps our state budget healthy and best meets the needs for education, transportation, economic development and managing our state spending. Thank you for the opportunity to continue to serve. I'm working hard for you.

  • Experience that delivers.

My background as a conservative, an RN, a mother, and years in the Legislature provides a great framework and a needed perspective to work on sound public policy and fiscal management. I've worked on appropriations, healthcare, education, transportation and many other committee assignments. I've served in many leadership roles, most recently as The Speaker of the House. Those experiences help me to serve my district as an experienced Legislator. Follow my blog and subscribe to my email list to stay informed on the work I am doing for you and my district.

Education

I am commited to properly funding Utah’s public schools. The Democrats want to tax you more so they can spend more on schools. But that’s not the answer! Raising taxes on our citizens and business slows economic growth – which may result in fewer available jobs when our children graduate from school!

Federal Power Grabs

The Federal Government is living outside of its means. The Tax and Spend mentality of the Democrat majorities in both the House and Senate are simply not sustainable. This intrusion into our lives is happening more and more.

I-15 Core Project

Healthy economies depend on keeping people, goods and services moving throughout Utah. Our roads, bridges, highways, freeways and interchanges must be up-to-date and in good repair.
